Entry 3- Building from the Sand, Up

Well, you know the challenge: we got a choice of making a treemail stand, a shelter, or an outfit. I was NOT paying that much attention the first scan through, and I thought we were doing all 3, or something, so I called dips on the Shelter. So, is this going to be a pattern, me saying shit I don't want to? I swear I'm not usually this bad. But they took it like a suggestion, and I argue the shelter is what gives you the cleanest final product after a lot of photoshop chopping. The treemail stand wouldn't be bad but that's a bit limited, and clothing is really pretty hard to manipulate without getting artificial results.

It's the fact that it involves people. It's hard to twist and turn and add and subtract to anything remotely human and not leave behind something that looks a little stripped of reality.

3:49 am. Rambling. Anyway... the tribe went to work on the project and... I admit I stepped out on a lot of the early decision-making. I got so caught up in so much drama elsewhere that I missed out on a lot of talk. On some level, that's a good thing. I have a love-hate relationship with creativity challenges. Art major, former graphic design major. I have a lot of opinions on a few little pixels. This is one kind of project that brings out my inner control freak and Bossy Bitch Brett. So, it was good that I didn't throw my weight around at the start.

Anyway, I did a lot of photoshop work. I did a lot of the clean up, the fixes, the additions, blending,etc. Basically, a good chuck of the image work was my work. I did far less in the ideas department. JT did a lot of leg work there, and so did others.

Fabio was sort of a leader of the project. I mean, the guy's attempted edits and grasp of image editting were all... lol, but his heart was in it, and he tried very hard to be very helpful. I really appreciated it. He started the chats, he looked for a good bulk of images, and made a few attempts at edits. He also relayed information between people.... BUT while that was appreciated I happened to be talking to the same people he was. So, lol.

Steph was the big help though. My fellow image editor, doing a lot of things that looked nice that I overlooked, finding really good images, and working hard on suggestions and legwork. We worked really well together. She understood what I needed, made a lot of cool suggestions (Fire Scout comes to mind) and was a big help.

So, yeah. We worked hard, some more than others, and if we don't get immunity I can at least say we worked hard and this went a lot better than a lot of my challenges like this.

Aarde won and Weerlig's got a date with tribal. Things... don't look too hot.

Appearently, the outfit was a major disaster. So bad Amanda didn't even want to post it. Rob seems to have no clue how the challenge went. He sat out. He says everyone he's talked to says Becky is the target. He doesn't really know why. He can't give me reasons she's out there. Becky says Darrah... and no one else said that. He doesn't know why its Darrah.

This situation is interesting. There's a few things that can be going on here:

A. My buddy Boston Rob brings up the vote then is cagey about giving me that good a look at his tribe's dynamics.

B. is simply not very good at acquiring and relaying information.

C. Boston Rob is on the outs and is a possible target for eviction.



They all fit on some level. It may even be a combination of things. I admit, I worry for my Weerlig pal for several reasons. He says his tribe is very peacefu and drama free. He says the vote is near unanimous. He can't tell me why. He sat out the challenge. He's been called "Mr. Popularity" or something along those lines by at least 1 tribemate.

He might be toast.

His tribe fucked that challenge up BAD. How is there no drama? And a unanimous vote for vague or unknown reasons? If I were Rob I would be praying to the Ever Merciful Ancient Namibian Cat-God of Forum Games.

Of course my smiley friend might just be bad at detectiving this shit. That's always possible.

Asshole. Alliance whore. Cocky SOB. Hate him.


Nice guy, very social, tries hard, a bit of a ditz. Very much about teamwork. I don't have anything offical with him, but we were discussing votes earlier. I like this guy.


Known ally from another game. Have not talked much in Namibia if recollection serves. Have not heard much. Seemed to be very strongly with Scout when speaking to her, very strongly with JT when speaking with him. Probably double-talker/manipulator. Fine with her for now.


Ally. Alliance along with Matty. Haven't talked much at all since vote was needed. Self-admitted villian in sign-ups. Likely in pregame F2 with Matty. Charismatic. Stay on good side. Talk more.


Barely talks. Less active. Good target at tribal.


Boston Rob's friend. Not very active. Is putting in stronger effort socially. Decent Tribal target.


Ally. JT's right-hand man. Less charismatic, very loyal to JT, likely pregame F2. Comes off as less active and less of a player, but not someone to discount. Talks with me a bit more than JT. We need to talk more.


Gone.


Very sweet, very social. Nice. Easy to work with. !!!!. Not to be discounted. How in the fuck she's managed to avoid the rumor mill about being a past winner in this series baffles me. Seems loyal from what I can tell from Tonga archives. I like her and would like to work with her at some point.


Ally from previous game. Playing game hard and fast. Will likely burn out pre-merge or wrap everything in web of influence. Doesn't come across as playing too hard to soon to me, but people who would know better say she is. Possible Post-Merge ally.


Active. On the site a LOT. On AIM a LOT. We'll meet up at the Merge, my friend.


Must have been inactive. Gone unanimously. Wanted to vote for Darrah but apparently could not be bothered.


I see her sometimes. Less Active? Annoying sig. Think I see her on AIM sometimes? Has MSN. Doubt she'll make Merge.


Don't know this guy. Don't have a good read on this guy. Using character, series, and season-specific alias. Probably someone to watch out for.


Up for tribe-depreciating humor. We kidnapped her. Not a lot to say at all.


Ally, cross-tribal. Naive, trusting, loyal... in spite of the fact that I first met him as a liar and a backstabber and a mole. Puts a hell of a lot of trust in me and buys into anything I say. His trust isn't misplaced. Friends with Jimmy. Likes the obvious tribal targets.


On AIM a lot. Friend of Amanda. Active. First person to sign in. Probably named Episode 1... so watches awesome shows on Cartoon Network. Likely meet at Merge.


Know from MANY games. Barely spoken to. Never makes Jury stages or merge. Doesn't do a whole lot. Boston Rob seems to like him. Boston Rob's taste in people is pretty poor tbqh.
